Watching the Michael Garner riots in 2014, I felt there was a better way to experience a fulfilled and meaningful life rather than to burn up neighborhoods and beg for acceptance.

I've seen historical videos and images documenting the treatment of blacks.  In my lifetime, I've witnessed Rodney King, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and all the others since, being brutally beaten or senselessly murdered.

I've also lived through the black pride and self-awareness revival in the late 1980s and early 1990s- listening to conscious artists like Poor Righteous Teachers and KRS-1.  Being surrounded by such awareness, inevitably, I read Malcolm X and many other books and ultimately joined the Nation of Islam where I became intimately aware of the so-called white man and his ways.

All these experiences gave me enough experience to know that neither rioting nor marches would get us very far in the advancement of ourselves any time quickly.  The issue of racism and white supremacy is an essential social function that provides predictable order in not only American society but the world society as a whole.

Maybe one-day white supremacists will change their viewpoint and say, "You know, power is not all that it's cracked up to be. Let's change our ways and share some of our power with the masses." But if not, or until then, there needs to be another way to be empowered and create successful, meaningful, and fulfilled lives independently of what the larger society allows.

The truth is, the system lives because we maintain it. By we, I mean people. People are the system. And although it seems counter-intuitive that we participate in our subjugation, we do. We're indoctrinated even before birth through the habits, ways of thinking, and ways of seeing the world embodied by our parents and downloaded into our paradigm as we enter the.

Seeing the broken record repeat itself over and over again each time there's an injustice has inspired me to search for a new way. A way to take control of the narrative so people can tell a new story. I hope to inspire people to replace their current world paradigm designed to tether you to your place, with a different one of universal truth, that will empower you and restore your intrinsic authority to be free and create the life God intended.
